For the Earth Day we decided to go public with all the small steps we are doing to reduce the environmental footprint of our own business.

Environmental care

Hotel Stella delle Alpi is part of Ecoworldhotel, an association that certifies the properties committed to reduce their footprint. On the official website you can get tips on how to be more environmentally friendly and useful ecogadget to buy.

Here there are the concrete steps we have already done:

  • Environmental awareness information made by recycled paper in the rooms and display of license plates in public areas.
  • The taps in all bathrooms are equipped with certified nozzles making for a water saving of about 40% compared with traditional taps (Find out why it is important to save water by watching the slideshow on the right).
  • The heating system is equipped with solar panels on the roof.
  • Recycled paper for administrative and accounting use.
  • Complete information about public transports and by foot or bike tours.
  • The staff is trained in waste control, especially concerning appropriate water and energy consumption.
  • The lighting system consists of fluorescent lamps A-class lasting longer and consume 5 times less than traditional ones. Lower frequency areas are equipped with photocells to limit electricity usage.
  • The consumption of electricity, fuel, natural gas and water are monitored on an energy plan to eliminate waste and be reduced to a minimum.
  • Heating system maintenance is carried out periodically by a specialized firm that ensures efficiency. Boilers, solar panels and other systems are all updated to 2006.
  • Towel replacement is only on demand, encouraging the reuse and raising awareness through information material in all the bathrooms on impacts of energy-efficient washing and chemicals.
  • The laundry detergents used by the hotel are ecolabeled and bio-degradable.
  • The separate collection of waste is strictly carried out through all the activities of the hotel. The waste than carried to the nearby ecological platform of Cavareno (TN) and collected accordingly to the laws of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
  • At the reception desk is on the collection of exhaust batteries.
  • The menu provides for the adequate presence of typical local products and several vegetarian options.

Our commitment does not finish here.
